Welcome to the official website of Software Queensland, In Australia the ICT industry comprises nearly 5% of the total value of the Australian Economy, with over 250,000 people actively engaged in its activities. Queensland’s 77,000 strong ICT workforce and $23.6 billion per annum revenue generation, puts it amongst the most economically significant industries in the State. Queensland software development companies play a major role in making the ICT industry dynamic, innovative and a strong global competitor. As such, they need an advocate that will promote their talents and strengths to corporations and governments Australia-wide. Software Queensland is this advocate. In 2004 Software Queensland was established to provide a focussed forum for Queensland based ISV's. Our 'narrow church' was established to provide an environment and representation that addressed the specific issues, opportunities and challenges faced by companies commercialising software in Queensland. Software Queensland was founded on three basic tenets that remain unchanged to this day: - Self Help organisation where peers can assist each other and the association can assist in business development for the membership. To use the collective brainpower of top software companies so that members can leverage the expertise of their peers and tackle issues unique to their profession.
- Raise the ICT Industry profile and awareness in the community. To advance & shape the future of the ICT profession and the Industry.
- Lobby Government on behalf of members to address issues of concern to the membership. Be a source of Senior Industry ‘opinion’ to relevant industry, legislative, and academic organisations.
Software Queensland provides senior managers of Queensland software development companies with a venue to discuss confidential issues and share their experiences in an open, confidential and non-competitive environment. If you are a commercial software developer, Software Queensland is your voice driving change and growth to secure our industry's future. Join us today.
